Hello, my name is Claudia Dixon and I LOVE Qigong. I have always been attracted to Energy practices and even though my career was a stressful one in Western Medicine, I am more attracted to Chinese Medicine. Through the years I have become certified in Reflexology and Reiki.

In 2007 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and just one year into retirement (2020) my cancer had returned and now had metastasized into my lungs. I did a total lifestyle change and started to take Qigong lessons. Much to everyone’s surprise my tumors started shrinking. I took 2 years of Qigong when I decided that this hidden secret must be shared, so I became certified and now teach Qigong in the small community of Paisley.

My original intent was to offer it to the elderly. It is so important that the old and frail continue to move their bodies and then afterwards I offered coffee/herbal tea and a small muffin. Combining gentle exercises with social interaction is vital to people who live alone. Typically, the people who come to my classes are between the ages of 40 – 70’s.

Another wonderful use for Qigong is to help people that have just lost a loved one. I also volunteer with the VON (Victorian Order of Nurses) and co-facilitate grieving sessions. We have one course entitled, ‘Mindfulness and Grieving’ and I always end by having the participants do some gentle Qigong movements. What I hear over and over again is that many of the people are so depressed that it is hard for them to participate in anything, especially just after the death of a loved one. Once they do a few of the Qigong exercises they all say that they feel much better and start to investigate this wonderful modality called Qigong. Qigong has helped me so much that all I want to do, is pay it forward.

Recently, I held a Ladies Retreat on my property that I call, ‘My Healing River’. It started with Qigong (of course), then Yoga, then massages and essential oils. I am humbled with the positive reviews.

Picture below is the Qigong class giving a donation of $800.00 back to the Paisley Legion.

The next picture is Qigong being done at the Ladies Retreat.
